A Sweet History

Stroopwafels originated in the Netherlands in the late 18th century, with the first known version created in the city of Gouda. Originally made from leftover crumbs and syrup, bakers perfected the recipe over time, crafting the signature thin waffle cookie filled with sweet caramel syrup. The treat quickly became a favorite, enjoyed with coffee or tea, and has since become a beloved snack enjoyed around the world.
